The book is coming. A printed edition of The Sleep Artist, made with its readers.
How this works: every question is first matched, in your browser, against all 122 real extracts from the manuscript (keyword search with stemming and synonyms, plus character and document-type hints) to narrow it to a dozen candidates, because the full text is far too large to send to the model at once. Claude then picks three different passages for you to choose between, each with a one-line Author's-voice hook. Once you choose, the extract is shown and the Author guesses what you may want next, using the path of passages you've followed so far. The extract itself is looked up by id and printed untouched by code, never generated or paraphrased. A passage is never shown twice in a session: ask again and you get the next most relevant one ("start over" resets this). Film titles in an extract link to the Filmography, and the Songs page gathers Clem Media's lyrics. Open "Passages the search considered" under any answer to see what was in the running. What's simulated: posters are drawn in code from the Filmography (not photoreal images); film titles with an "Own chapter" badge are the ones the book writes about at length.
